Hitting the road in support of their recent release My Shame Is True, Alkaline Trio played the iconic Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa, OK along with Bayside and Off With Their Heads. It was my first time hitting Cain's in something like ten years, the last time being AFI with Coheed & Cambria. Having previously caught Alkaline Trio at Riot Fest last year, a more intimate venue like this was with an immense improvement.
SPOILER ALERT: They played just about every song I wanted to hear and it fucking awesome.

MUSIC: Now Playing
Cold Blue Mountain - S/TThese guys are a metal band from Chico, CA with a style that is hard to pigeonhole. Their self titled record was recently released on vinyl by Gogmagogical Records on both black vinyl and a limited blue/white variant (the later only available directly from the band.)
Though it transcends genres one thing is for sure - it is definitely heavy. They sometimes remind me of Tool bassist Justin Chancellor's former band Peach though with heavier vocals. Some of my favorite tracks are Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, MK Ultra and Dark Secret.
Find what else I've had on repeat after the jump.

MUSIC: Danzig 25th Anniversary Tour w/Doyle 04-24-13 Dallas, TX
For the fourth time in as many years...starting to sound familiar isn't it? We again made a trip to see Danzig, this time celebrating the 25th anniversary of his self titled band. And again, Doyle was on the bill to play a Misfits set. This recipe has yet to get stale with me and I eat it up every time. More on my annual pilgrimage to see the Dark Lord after the jump.
